Privacy Policy

The short version: your stories belong to you. We keep them private, we only share them with the family members you choose, we never sell your information, and we never show ads.
My Life Stories is made by My Life Stories LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the My Life Stories iPhone app and this website, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your account. You sign in with Apple. Apple shares your name and an email address with us. If you choose "Hide My Email", we only receive a private relay address.
- Your stories. The answers you approve (voice recordings, videos, writing, and photos) along with their titles and captions. Nothing you record is saved until you review and approve it.
- Who can see them. The family members you invite, and what you've allowed each of them to see.
- Your subscription status. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details.
- From this website. If you fill in a form here, we receive what you type (such as your name and email). This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the app: keep your stories safe, back them up, and show them to you and the people you've invited.
- To provide app features that work with your stories, such as transcribing a recording.
- To answer your support requests and, if you signed up, to tell you when the app launches.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share your stories with anyone you haven't invited.
Where it's stored
Your stories are kept on your iPhone and backed up to secure cloud storage provided by Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States. Access is locked to your account: only you, and the family you invite, can reach them. This website is hosted by Netlify, which also receives the forms you submit here.
Your choices
- You can change or remove a family member's access at any time.
- You can download your stories whenever you like.
- You can delete any memory from inside the app, or ask us to delete your whole account and everything in it.
- If your subscription ends, your stories are not deleted. Nothing is removed without a clear decision from you.
Children
My Life Stories is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app for any important change.
